ABOUT OUR CURRICULUM
The Say Word Curriculum incorporates academic standards with artistic expression and social awareness. Threading literary arts with performance techniques, each lesson plan takes students on a journey from the internal to the external world, and discusses issues such as bullying, social injustice and pop culture. Including an exclusive analogy of poems by some of the best spoken word poets in the world, the curriculum aligns with California Common Core State Standards, and includes instruction on literary devices, writing prompts, and worksheets as well as video presentations of performances.
